Getting started
This getting started tutorial is divided into multiple chapters. Each chapter revolves around a certain subject.
Chapter 1: Basics
First login to EquineM via the app or the webportal. The webportal has the most extensive features, while the app is easier to start with and easier to take with you.
The login website is https://web.equinem.com/accounts/login. It is a good idea to bookmark it for later.
Once inside the application, the first step to take when you start with EquineM is to add a horse. The “add horse” button can be found in the web portal in the weekly overview and in the dashboard.
In the weekly overview an activity can be added by dragging an activity type to the horse and onto the day you want to add it. Or by clicking on the add activity button at the bottom. Via this button many activities can be added at once, for example to multiple horses or a complete horse group. Via the dashboard an activity can be quickly added to a horse. Via the daily overview first an activity type has to be added. Then a horse can be dragged on this activity type to add an activity. Finally, it is also possible to add activities via a plan.
The default activity types are probably not enough for everyday use of EquineM. Therefore, you can add your own activity types. By clicking on the cog item at the top of legend in the weekly overview you get to the activity type management page. Here you can add activity types, or delete one.
When adding your first activity type, you may notice the options for additional relevant information and possible roles. By enabling this, you can add this extra information to the activity type in the future. Take, for example, the additional relevant information “note”. Checking this box allows you to add notes to activities of this activity type. Of course you can also change this afterwards by editing the activity type.
Additional information and possible roles will show up when using the “add activity” button, or when tapping on an already added activity to edit it.
To make a horse inactive, move the horse away from your stable. By default it will then also be set to inactive.
This can be done in two ways: 1. By clicking the pencil icon near the current location. 2. By tapping the horse-with-minus sign icon in the location history section.
Chapter 2: Basics of contacts and accounts
There are two types of contacts in EquineM. Those with an account/user connected to it and those without. To add a contact, just start by typing the persons name in the input field. If a person already exists in EquineM and is searchable, you can invite him. As soon as you invite the person, a contact is created for this person. Click on the contact to see the status of the invitation or resend the invitation. After the person accepts the invitation, he will added to the teams that are connected with the role(s) that you have chosen when you’ve invited him. If the person you want to add is not found you can create a contact with a new account. Fill in as many information of this person as possible, so you’l always have this information at hand. Normally two emails are send to this person when the account is created. One with more information about EquineM and one to create a new password for the account. This can be disabled by checking “don’t send account creation email”.
